We are thrilled to announce that the p5.js project has been selected to receive a total of €200,000 funding from the Sovereign Tech Fund to enhance the organization and accessibility of p5.js documentation. This work is part of the Sovereign Tech Fund’s Contribute Back to Open Source Challenges, which will be implemented by December 31, 2023.

p5.js was created by Lauren Lee McCarthy in 2013 and currently led by the p5.js Project Lead, Qianqian Ye. We’d like to celebrate Qianqian in their efforts in making this funding possible and share our gratitude for the support of the Sovereign Tech Fund! Below is a description of the project that will take place.
Project name: p5.js Documentation Organization & Accessibility

p5.js is a free open-source JavaScript library for creative coding, with a focus on making coding accessible and inclusive for artists, designers, educators, and beginners. It empowers individuals to create interactive experiences and embodies a strong commitment to accessibility as both software and community. This project enhances organization and accessibility of p5.js documentation across the p5.js website and p5.js GitHub repositories. This funding supports a group of p5.js contributors and consultants to work on p5.js documentation over a period of four months (September through December 2023).
