*This is a well-designed metaverse gallery. The artist built it himself, although it’s hosted in the Cryptovoxels metaverse, as indeed many NFT galleries are.
*Along with a detailed story about his new NFT artwork (which is currently being auctioned in the “Natively Digital” show at Sotheby’s) Matt Kane takes the further trouble to display his own collection of NFT work from sixty-four of his artistic colleagues. That’s a gesture toward artist solidarity, and it’s quite an interesting assemblage.
*It’s remarkable how the apparent 2D image of Kane’s homage to Claude Monet can split into compositional layers and ooze into a simulated 3D metaverse space. “To achieve with code what Manet did with oils.”
As @MattKaneArtist on Twitter, Kane explains his methods and motivations:
Please join me in visiting the @cryptovoxels installation I've made in order to bring a metaverse experience to my #cryptoart work being shown with #NativelyDigital at @Sothebys. https://t.co/uw0MZsKBg0 pic.twitter.com/QlMGYlO7pR
