Upcoming Tuesday HEK (House of Electronic Arts) in Basel will celebrate its 10th anniversary. As part of this anniversary, we would like to invite you to a reception on the outdoor platform of HEK: Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at 8pm.<\/p>\n
We will start the evening with short speeches by Dr. Beat van Wartburg, Director of the Christoph Merian Foundation, Annette Sch\u00f6nholzer, President of the Foundation Board of HEK and Sabine Himmelsbach, Director of HEK. On this evening we will look back on the highlights of the last 10 years and give you a preview of what is to come. Afterwards we would like to invite you for snacks and drinks to celebrate this special occasion, accompanied by a live set by NVST (Big Science).<\/p>\n
We would also like to bring two other Art Basel events to your attention. On Thursday afternoon, September 23, 2021, the launch of the project “Unfinished Camp” will take place from 3:30pm to 5:30pm, also on the outdoor platform of HEK. “Unfinished Camp” is a collaboration of international arts organizations that aim to showcase the visions of young artists from around the world, driven by the belief that art has something to say about how we can create a healthy and equitable society in the digital age. Panel participants include Hans Ulrich Obrist, Andr\u00e1s Sz\u00e1nt\u00f3, Sarah Friend and other guests from the international network. <\/p>\n
On the same evening, starting at 7pm, the Pax Art Awards ceremony, the Swiss prizes for media art, will take place, to which we would like to invite you. Afterwards there will be snacks and drinks and a live set by Audrey Danza. <\/p>\n
Furthermore, during the Art Basel week, HEK will be open for you from Monday to Sunday from 10am till 8pm presenting the international group exhibition Radical Gaming, an exhibition of this years winners of the Pax Art Awards and the artists of “Unfinished Camp”. On the Freilager-Platz all visitors can try out the new augmented reality installation by Manuel Rossner CLIMBING ON COLOR I, commissioned by HEK. As a special guest of LISTE Art Fair, HEK is presenting media art by emerging artists. This year we present the video installations Breathing Patterns (2020) by Salom\u00e9 Chatriot and Mix, Match and Start From Scratch (2019) by Jessica-Maria Nassif.<\/p>\n
