Submissions are open from today until March 13, 2023. Ars Electronica in Linz has been commissioned to organize the new competition. (((Really?)))<\/p>\n<p>The most important facts at a glance:<br \/>\n&#8211; New European prize for Citizen Science<br \/>\n&#8211; Prize money in total 100,000 euros<br \/>\n&#8211; 1 Grand Prize, 2 Awards and 27 Honorary Mentions<br \/>\n&#8211; Submission deadline March 13, 2023<br \/>\n&#8211; What is Citizen Science?<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;European Union Prize for Citizen Science&#8221; recognizes initiatives in Europe that aim at scientific progress and social benefit, actively involve citizens* and thus promote an open and inclusive civil society. The competition aims to bring pioneering projects to the forefront and support them, and to bring Citizen Science in general closer to the general public. A &#8220;Grand Prize&#8221; endowed with 60,000 euros, a &#8220;Diversity &#038; Collaboration Award&#8221; endowed with 20,000 euros and a &#8220;Digital Communities Award&#8221; also endowed with 20,000 euros will be awarded.
