\nThe festival\u2019s opening evening takes place on 1 February at Akademie der K\u00fcnste with exhibition, performance, and music.<\/p>\n
The festival\u2019s discourse programme unfolds over four days and brings together international artists, researchers, performers, and thinkers. Find a first participants list online.<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s film programme features a selection of short films and a new feature film \u2013 The Signal Line by French filmmaker Simon Ripoll-Hurier.<\/p>\n
Distributed around Akademie der K\u00fcnste, a series of artistic interventions suggest new scalar tactics through practice-based approaches.<\/p>\n
The annual Marshall McLuhan Lecture \u2013 the prelude to the festival \u2013 takes place on 31 January at the Embassy of Canada in Berlin. This year\u2019s McLuhan Lecture is held by Svitlana Matviyenko.<\/p>\n

\nOpening with the festival on 1 February, an exhibition featuring Alan Butler and Simone C Niquille will be on view in Akademie der K\u00fcnste until 26 February. Their collaborative exchange interrogates the technical and socio-political implications of computer-vision technologies.

\nAlongside the festival week, the citywide exhibition Out of Scale will be on view for one month. Distributed and embedded across eBay Kleinanzeigen, Tempelhofer Feld, transmediale warehouse, and the city\u2019s Sp\u00e4tis and U-Bahn, the exhibition challenges the optimised image of the city generated by algorithmic process that scale across networks and platforms. Featuring work from over twenty international and Berlin-based artists, the interventions explore the city\u2019s networks and question our reliance on the technological organisation of the city.<\/p>\n

\nPortals, CTM kicks off their festival on 27 January, giving the opportunity to our audience to expand their experience with a broad programme around sound and music.<\/p>\n
Building on the more than ten year joint venture, Vorspiel (https:\/\/vorspiel.berlin\/) , the project space programme of transmediale and CTM, will take place across multiple project spaces. The grand opening of Vorspiel will take place on 20 January at silent green.<\/p>\n

\nAm 1. Februar beginnt das Festival mit einem Er\u00f6ffnungsabend mit Performances, Musik und Talks in der Akademie der K\u00fcnste.<\/p>\n
Das Diskursprogramm findet \u00fcber vier Tage hinweg statt und bringt internationale K\u00fcnstler:innen, Forscher:innen, Performer:innen und Denker:innen zusammen.<\/p>\n
Das diesj\u00e4hrige Filmprogramm pr\u00e4sentiert eine Auswahl an Kurzfilmen und den neuen Film des franz\u00f6sischen Filmemachers Simon Ripoll-Hurier: The Signal Line.<\/p>\n

\nParallel zum Festival pr\u00e4sentiert transmediale Out of Scale, eine Ausstellung mit verschiedenen Sammelpunkten in der Stadt \u2013 auf dem Tempelhofer Feld, im transmediale warehouse, in Sp\u00e4tis und U-Bahn Stationen \u2013 sowie eingebettet in digitale Infrastrukturen wie eBay Kleinanzeigen. Mehr als zwanzig internationale und in Berlin ans\u00e4ssige K\u00fcnstler:innen fordern die Abh\u00e4ngigkeit von der technologischen Organisation unseres urbanen Lebens heraus. Anhand von Postern, Video- und Soundarbeiten, einer AR-Experience oder 3D gedruckten Objekten setzt sich Out of Scale mit Perspektiven auf Umweltzerst\u00f6rung, Biomonitoring, antikolonialem Widerstand und mehr-als-menschlichen Identit\u00e4ten auseinander.
