In\u00a0autumn 2022<\/strong>,\u00a0Pompeii Commitment. Archaeological Matters\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>\u2013 the first long-term, contemporary art programme, established by the\u00a0Archaeological Park of Pompeii \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>launches its\u00a0first printed publication\u00a0<\/strong>as well as a new\u00a0yearly programme\u00a0<\/strong>of\u00a0Digital Fellowships<\/em><\/a>, whose inaugural participants are seven international artists, designers, thinkers, and researchers:\u00a0Formafantasma<\/strong>,\u00a0Allison Katz<\/strong>,\u00a0Miao Ying<\/strong>,\u00a0Legacy Russell<\/strong>,\u00a0Anri Sala<\/strong>,\u00a0Rose Salane<\/strong>, and\u00a0Sissel Tolaas.\u00a0<\/strong>Pompeii Commitment. Archaeological Matters\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>was conceived in 2020 by\u00a0Massimo Osanna\u00a0<\/strong>(General Director of Italy’s National Museums) and\u00a0Andrea Viliani\u00a0<\/strong>(Director of the Museum of Civilizations, Rome), and since 2021 it has been overseen by\u00a0Gabriel Zuchtriegel (<\/strong>General Director of the Archaeological Park of Pompeii).\u00a0The programme is curated by Andrea Viliani and Stella Bottai with Caterina Avataneo. After the first two years of activities \u2013 focused on reconfiguring the archaeological site of Pompeii as a foundation for alternative forms of knowledge, forming through a multiplicity of functions, and studying and sharing the multiple cognitive potentials of Pompeii and the episteme of its “archaeological matters” \u2013\u00a0Pompeii Commitment. Archaeological Matters\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>is now developing a new step of its research platform launching\u00a0Pompeii Commitment. Archaeological Matters \u2013 Digital Fellowships<\/strong><\/em>,\u00a0<\/strong>a new yearly programme, facilitating\u00a0artistic\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0curatorial research\u00a0<\/strong>within\u00a0Pompeii’s uniquely trans-temporal, multi-species, and deeply entangled context<\/strong>. The first and unique framework of this kind at the Archaeological Park of Pompeii, the\u00a0Digital Fellowships\u00a0<\/em>promote and foster plural forms of\u00a0engagement<\/strong>,\u00a0interpretation\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0accessibility to Pompeian heritage\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0its multiple histories\u00a0<\/strong>through the\u00a0technological episteme of our time<\/strong>, as well as empower the transformability of matters, critically exploring what matters have become, or could become, within our digital epoch.<\/p>\n

Moreover,\u00a0in autumn 2022 will be released the first printed publication edited by\u00a0Pompeii Commitment. Archaeological Matters\u00a0<\/em>and published by\u00a0Silvana Editoriale<\/strong>. Conceived as both the culmination of and a further reflection upon\u00a0Pompeii Commitment<\/em>‘s foundational activities (December 2020\u2013June 2022) on the digital research centre\u00a0pompeiicommitment.org<\/a>., this upcoming\u00a0catalogue\u00a0<\/strong>Pompeii Commitment. Materie archeologiche<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 il primo programma d’arte contemporanea a lungo termine istituito dal\u00a0Parco Archeologico di Pompei<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 lancia la sua prima\u00a0pubblicazione cartacea<\/strong>\u00a0e un nuovo\u00a0programma annuale<\/strong>\u00a0di\u00a0Digital Fellowship<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>i cui primi partecipanti sono sette artisti, designer, pensatori e ricercatori internazionali:\u00a0Formafantasma, Allison Katz, Miao Ying, Legacy Russell, Anri Sala, Rose Salane<\/strong>\u00a0e\u00a0Sissel Tolaas.<\/strong>

A seguito dei primi due anni di attivit\u00e0 \u2013 incentrati sulla riconfigurazione del sito archeologico di Pompei quale fondamento per forme alternative di conoscenza, che si delineano attraverso una molteplicit\u00e0 di funzioni, in particolare lo studio e la condivisione delle plurime potenzialit\u00e0 conoscitive di Pompei e dell’episteme insita nella sua “materia archeologica” \u2013\u00a0Pompeii Commitment. Materie archeologiche<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>sta ora sviluppando una nuova fase della sua piattaforma di ricerca lanciando\u00a0Pompeii Commitment. Materie archeologiche<\/em>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Digital Fellowship<\/em>, un nuovo programma annuale che promuove la\u00a0ricerca artistica<\/strong>\u00a0e\u00a0curatoriale<\/strong>\u00a0all’interno del contesto unico, trans-temporale, multi-specie e stratificato di Pompei. Primo e unico framework di questo tipo presso il Parco Archeologico di Pompei, le\u00a0Digital<\/em>\u00a0Fellowship<\/em>\u00a0facilitano e accrescono la\u00a0pluralit\u00e0 del dialogo, dell’interpretazione e<\/strong>\u00a0dell’accessibilit\u00e0 al patrimoniopompeiano<\/strong>\u00a0e alle sue\u00a0molteplici<\/strong>\u00a0storie<\/strong>\u00a0attraverso l’episteme tecnologica del nostro tempo<\/strong>, oltre a valorizzare la trasformabilit\u00e0 delle materie, esplorando criticamente ci\u00f2 che sono diventate, o potrebbero diventare, nella nostra epoca digitale.<\/p>\n

Materie archeologiche<\/em>, edita da\u00a0Silvana Editoriale<\/strong>\u00a0e concepita tanto come risultato quanto come ulteriore strumento di riflessione sul primo anno e mezzo di attivit\u00e0 di\u00a0Pompei Commitment<\/em>\u00a0(dicembre 2020 \u2013 giugno 2022), e in particolare del centro di ricerca digitale\u00a0pompeiicommitment.org<\/a>. Il volume\u00a0Pompeii Commitment.
