A new board for industrial clients wanting to integrate the performance and power of the Portenta H7 into more targeted AI and edge computing applications

Arduino PRO continues to invest in the diversification of its Portenta range with the new Portenta H7 Lite board, adding to an ecosystem that is growing to meet the specific needs of industrial clients, in every field and at every level of complexity. Just last year, as part of its ongoing efforts to become an ideal partner for companies in the Industry 4.0 revolution, Arduino launched the Portenta H7: an industry-grade board that delivers a huge amount of computational power because it simultaneously runs high-level code along with real-time tasks, thanks to the dual-core STM32H747 including a Cortex® M7 running at 480 MHz and a Cortex® M4 running at 240 MHz. The two cores communicate via a Remote Procedure Call mechanism that allows calling functions on the other processor seamlessly.

THE PORTENTA H7 LITE: GET EXACTLY WHAT YOU NEED
An additional version of the board is now available, designed for developers who want to leverage the computational power of the Portenta H7, without the need for video output, additional security features or connectivity.

The Portenta H7 Lite is a “light” and more targeted solution for AI applications and low-latency control projects, and the perfect fit for crowded radio environments or situations where connectivity is not necessary. It’s ideal for robotics controller systems and other machine operations that don’t require a high-resolution video interface, as it lacks the Portenta H7’s specific output feature. Furthermore, compared to the full version, the Portenta H7 Lite includes one secure element rather than two.

Like the entire Portenta family, the new board offers top performance with Arduino’s reliability, versatility, and always cost-effective and open-source model. From high-end industrial machinery to laboratory equipment and mission-critical devices, maximize the performance and power balance of your smart solutions with Portenta H7 Lite.
