Processing: 20 years old

Tuesday 10th August, 2021 - Bruce Sterling

Dear Processing Community,

Processing is 20 years old today! We’ve been seeing a flurry of activity on social media regarding work and projects this community has been working on throughout the (difficult) past year. We’ve also been working behind the scenes on virtual events related to our fellowship and educational programs. To make Processing’s birthday extra special, please visit the Processing Foundation’s website to learn more about how you can participate in the celebration.

Between the Processing 4.0 beta 1 release to a soon-to-be unveiled re-design of the processing.org site, there is a lot to be grateful for and all of this work proves the strength of our community despite these challenging times. This year is a first for us in terms of running three concurrent programs: Google Summer of Code, Season of Docs, and our annual Fellowship program. None of these things can happen without your support and generosity.

Special thanks to the Ringers Fund for a generous donation that will help us continue our work and fulfill some of our big dreams for the organization! Help us do the work that allows us to support artists, software literacy, and keep our projects free for the general public, accessible, and open-source. We wouldn’t be able to do any of this without you.

Wishing you a 404 Error-free day,

The Processing Foundation Team
