Our next exhibition, –GRAPH, will open on November 30, 2021 14:00 UTC+0 (10pm Shanghai, 3pm Berlin, 11am São Paulo, 6am Los Angeles), with collecting to begin one hour later. Join us on Discord to engage with other collectors, the artists, and curator Casey Reas.

Save this date to your Google or ICS-compatible calendar.

Each of the artists in –GRAPH has created one software artwork that creates 30 unique physical drawings. Twelve sets (bundles of all six works) will be made available to collectors, as well as 11 of the editions from each artist. The pieces will be auctioned to the highest bidders, and the first collector of each edition will receive the corresponding plotter drawing shipped directly from the artist’s studio. Each software NFT includes millions of other compositions that are embedded in the software that can be viewed through an interface created by each artist.

See our press release for the full details, the “price list” for collecting information, or read on.

Curator Casey Reas on –GRAPH:

“When I made my first plotter drawings, I can say without exaggeration that it completely transformed my understanding of the history of computer-generated drawings. Before, I had vaguely understood how they were created, but now I felt their production in detail… Each drawing is truly unique and is often the result of careful physical adjustments and extreme patience.

Making plotter drawings is difficult and wonderful, and the artists in –GRAPH are passionate about this medium. These artists all share a love of working with visual systems and writing code, and transforming how the code is rendered through drawing machines.”

Additions to the Ethereum Bridge

We have been making steady progress with our Ethereum bridge. We have just added support for Refik Anadol’s Unsupervised and in total can handle migrations for:

#009 – Unsupervised (See the OpenSea Collection)
#008 – Polyarrythmia
#007 – Reflections in the Water
#006 – P1×3L
We will finish supporting the remaining five shows before the end of the year.

As a reminder, you can access the bridge for supported artworks when you view your edition within your collection. We have also received great feedback about how to improve our presence on OpenSea – you will see these optimizations rolled out over the next week.

You can help us further by sharing feedback and participating in user tests through our #features, #feedback, and #troubleshooting channels in the Platform section of our Discord.
Physical Rewards for Refik Anadol’s Unsupervised

Collectors who are holding three artworks (within one account) from the “Dreams” series (9 artworks x 100 editions) as of December 1, 2021 will receive archival prints of their images shipped from the artist’s studio in early 2022. The prints will be 22″ high and 12.4″ wide. This requirement can be met by purchasing editions from secondary marketplaces. On Feral File, you can view editions for sale from other collectors by viewing the artwork you prefer, and click “Collect”.

Collectors who won the 1/1 auctions will receive physical editions of their NFTs.

While Refik Anadol is finalizing the logistics, receive the latest updates in his community on Discord.

Feral File on Sustainability

Since we launched earlier this year, we have received many questions about our mission to build a sustainable curated ecosystem for digital art. As an overview, we focus on sustainability in the following areas:

Economic — by creating sustainable relationships between artists and collectors, through evolution of the classic 1971 legal agreement “The Artist’s Reserved Rights Transfer and Sale Agreement.”

Environmental — by offsetting 125% of our estimated carbon impact and supporting additional measures, with the goal of being a net-positive contributor to the planet’s environment.

Technological — by supporting open infrastructure in the same ways that facilitated the creation of TCP/IP and the Web.

You can learn more on our new Sustainability page.
