(Linz, April 2, 2025) The hottest year on record. Weather extremes becoming the new normal. Tech utopias driven more by venture capital than by social progress. Eroding trust in institutions – and in the power of democracy to innovate. War in Europe. A fractured transatlantic alliance. Our world is changing at breakneck speed. For some, it’s collapse. For others, radical transformation. Or even a new beginning.
PANIC – yes/no. That’s the question posed by Ars Electronica 2025, taking place September 3–7. Hundreds of artists, scientists, developers, designers, entrepreneurs, and activists will gather in Linz, Austria, to explore the role of art in times of upheaval.
