A Museum of Other Realities

Wednesday 9th June, 2021 - Bruce Sterling

The pandemic has fertilized the eccentricities of the festival scene.

ICYMI: Cannes XR, NewImages Festival, and Tribeca Festival will launch XR3 – a shared space for viewing XR projects from their respective festivals – at the Museum of Other Realities tomorrow, June 9. The launch coincides with the opening day of Tribeca and NewImages.

The VR platform brings together 50 VR narrative works, including “Madrid Noir,” “Marco & Polo Go Round,” and “Jailbirds – Bwa Kayiman.”

Both 6DoF and 360-degree works will be represented. It will have the full selection of NewImages and Tribeca XR works and a partial selection from Cannes XR.

The works will be displayed in three galleries – one for each festival – in the virtual exhibition museum, which specializes in original scenography.

It runs June 9-20, coinciding with Tribeca and NewImages, before returning July 6-15 for Cannes.

Each gallery costs $14.99 on Steam, via the Museum of Other Realities app.
